At Refuge Homes, we partner with our impact investors to support ministries that change lives. One of these incredible ministries is Raleigh Dream Center. In this post, we want to highlight this ministry and show how our impact investors are making a real difference in people’s lives.
An Overview of Raleigh Dream Center
Raleigh Dream Center is a Christ-centered, volunteer-driven organization that addresses addiction, hunger, trauma, homelessness, and unemployment. They’re on a mission to transform lives through the Triangle, and in 2024 alone, they helped more than 50,000 families and served more than 1.16 million meals.
Through their residential programs and community outreach, they provide safe places where people can heal, grow, and work toward self-sufficiency. Raleigh Dream Center also partners with local churches and businesses (like Refuge Homes) to provide housing, food, addiction recovery support, and other critical services to those in need.
How We Support Raleigh Dream Center
Refuge Homes is no stranger to Raleigh Dream Center. In 2016, our founder, Dana LaBerge, began volunteering with them as a tutor. That led to a deeper involvement with their Adopt-A-Block program. Dana and his family now regularly serve in this program by delivering free groceries, picking up trash, and having intentional gospel conversations with people in a Raleigh-area neighborhood.
Dana’s relationship with Raleigh Dream Center led to Refuge Homes becoming a financial donor.
And now, we at Refuge Homes are fortunate enough to support them with housing, too.
The housing we provide supports Raleigh Dream Center’s residential addiction recovery program.
For people in recovery, stability is essential. When recovering addicts know they have a safe place to stay, they can focus on healing instead of worrying about where they’ll sleep. This gives them the mental and spiritual space to work on themselves, rebuild their lives, and take steps toward freedom.
In short, the stable housing Refuge Homes provides plays a huge role in the recovery process.
