If you're like a lot of our impact investors, you didn’t grow up with a safety net.
To build what you have, you weathered hard seasons and stayed steady when it would’ve been easier to walk away. And along the way, someone showed up for you when it mattered most.
Now, you're in a place to do the same for others. To you, generosity isn’t something you begrudgingly do–it’s part of your personal mission.
An Unspoken Difficulty Surrounding Generosity
It’s not easy to talk about (and it often goes unsaid), but it can often be difficult to know what kind of impact your generosity is having.
To be clear, we’re not against donating, but we know that donations alone aren’t always the answer to solving problems. This is especially true when it comes to housing insecurity in North Carolina.
Addressing an Overwhelming Problem
The size of the problem of NC’s housing insecurity problem is overwhelming.
It’s the foundational problem of so many other problems in our communities. Many of our local nonprofit partners have told us that they can’t help people heal and grow if those people don’t know where they’re going to sleep at night.
We know something needs to be done about it, and so do our impact investors. But we also believe there's a more sustainable way to respond.
A New Way to Create Change: Refuge Homes Impact Fund 1
So, to tackle housing insecurity in NC, we created a new fund that positions investing as a means for lasting community change: Refuge Homes Impact Fund 1.
This fund allows us to provide an investment for our investors, expand our real estate portfolio, and serve nonprofits who are creating environments where transformation is possible.
With it, we can give our impact investors a single fund they can invest in to help solve our state’s problem of housing insecurity.
Aligning Your Mission and Your Investment
This fund allows you to help address one of the most urgent needs in our communities, while delivering a return on your investment. It’s a way to live out your values while growing your resources.
You’ve worked hard to get where you are. Now, you can use what you’ve built to help others find a foundation of their own.
